The always-changing human-computer
The human brain is the computer of the body and we can rewire the brain for success. We used to think that we only use 10% of our brain. The reason for this is that we believed that The Neocortex – the grey mass of nerve-cells that we call the thinking brain, is about 10% of the size of the brain.
The white matter in the brain is 9 times larger than the grey mass. When we took snapshots of the brain like a cat scan or MR we could only see a moment of the brain, and we thought we only used the grey matter. That is why the myth that we only use 10% of our brain occurred.
Science has found that if we used our whole brain, all at once – our brain would be stronger than a computer. We have about 100 million neurons. That means we can make the brain work in many different patterns.
How to rewire the brain to secure success
Our mind – is the brain in action. Today we can see how the brain works in action and patterns, like in a movie. We use all of the brains โ but not all at once. We develop sequences and patterns through our thoughts. That means that our thoughts decide who we become. Today we have started to understand that our thoughts make our reality through the patterns we make in our brain. How to rewire the brain to secure success then, has everything to do with the way we decide to think.
Breaking the habit of being yourself.
If our thoughts make the patterns in our brain – then, the way you think is who you are. Our identity then is made up of thought patterns, leading to habits and beliefs developed through life. The brain scientist Joe Dispenza found that by the age of 35 most people basically live on autopilot of these environmentally induced patterns. 95 % of our thinking, our habits, and beliefs are what we do every day.
You get up in the morning, stretch and yawn, get into the bathroom, have a shower, brush your teeth. Have breakfast, get to work, do the work, go back home and watch tv before you go to bed.
So, if 95% of all you do is on autopilot, the hardest thing you can do is breaking the habit of being yourself.
You hope for change but do the same every day โ we all know that it is not getting us anywhere
So how do we change the habit of being ourselves?
Nerve cells that fire together wire together
If you see the same people, that push the same emotional buttons – go to the same places and perform the same tasks as most days for many years, then your brain is organized to reflect everything you do in your life. And if you did the same actions, thoughts, and behaviors, again and again, it is the external environment that turns on the same patterns in your brain.
You react unconsciously to everything in your life. As long as you keep turning on the same circuit cells in the same patterns you get the same results. That is why we can say that nerve cells that fire together wire together.
All the great thinkers in the world knew this. They all had a vision and an idea. They believed in a future that was different than they had. A future they could not yet see with their eyes – only in their mind.
That is why they tried new things โ and got new results.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
So, we all have two choices.
- Stay in the comfort zone. Work for somebody elseโs dream and have tea with mediocre people complaining about their life and blaming everyone else for their misfortune.
- Learn from great thinkers and make a difference in the world.
Leaving the Comfort-zone
If you think like you did yesterday, behave like you did yesterday, feel like you did yesterday, you are living in the past.
So, your life is on autopilot and you live in the past. You know now, that this pattern will keep you stuck in the well-known comfort zone. The big question then is this:
Are you willing to become uncomfortable, learn new ways and develop habits that will take you to the future of your dreams?
Have goals so big you get uncomfortable telling smallminded people about it
To change is to be greater than our environment. That means you will encounter resistance, ridicule and well-meaning advice to NOT go for your dreams. But staying in the comfort-zone leads to a meaningless life that kills our spirit
- Can you believe in the future that you cannot see, feel or sense yet?
- Can you believe in the future that only you can see?
- Do you want it bad enough to go it alone?
If youโre living life on autopilot, then WAKE UPโฆ Because most great things in life are just outside your comfort zone. push through the fair…
You are good enough my friend, the world needs your wisdom
What separates the human race from other species!
The famous brain scientist, speaker, and lecturer Dr. Joe Dispenza say that we need to imagine the future we want and visualize it every day so that it becomes as familiar as if it already happened.
He explains that the frontal lobe is where our metacognition is located. The size of the frontal lobe is about 40% of our brain and what separates the human-race from other species. This is where we become conscious of who we are.
With our metacognition, we can observe our thoughts, we can notice how we feel, analyze our behavior, our ability to learn and we can see our dreams as clearly as if they already happened. We become aware of our unconscious behaviors and patterns. We are the only species that has got this ability. That is why it is possible to change our mind, learn new behaviours and create the life we want.
But, how exactly do we do that? You might ask.
Well, there is a simple way to do this.
That does not mean it is easy…
Meditation – Changing the software of the brain
According to the Tibetan monasteries, the word meditation means โto be familiar withโ.
The first step in meditation is to be aware of the old self. Who we are, how we react in patterns and what triggers emotions and behaviors? Like going into the operating system and finding patterns we want to change. Then we can bring it to our consciousness so that we give ourselves the ability to change the patterns. This is the awareness of our old self and will help us find the patterns we wish to change.
The second step in meditation is beginning to think about new ways of being. Asking questions like what do I want my future to be like? What is freedom, and happiness and joy to me? just by thinking these new thoughts, and analyzing our dream scenarios we are changing our brains. It is starting to make new patterns because new thoughts fire-new sequences as we search for and define our future goals. If we keep doing this every day, we are literally changing the software in our brains.

Ditching the illusion of security to secure success
An important part of change is leaving something behind. Sometimes that means leaving friends that you outgrow, developing new habits like incorporating meditation in your routine and stop yourself from thinking old thoughts that don`t serve you anymore.
When we learn how to rewire our brain to secure success, we also leave behind the illusion of security of the known. We are wired to fear change and our brain will do its best to keep us safe where we are along with friends and family resisting your new self. That is why change is hard, and often a lonely process. That is also why itโs so important to make your new meditation practice and other growth-mindset habits a regular part of your daily routine.
